Method 1 of 2: Recover after suspension for suspicious activity

1. Log in to Twitter. You can sign up on Twitter at https://twitter.com or with the mobile app.
2. Click or press Start. If your account is suspected of being under attack, you will see a message stating that your account has been locked. You will need to confirm your phone number, email address and other personal information. Click on "Start" to begin.
3. Click or press Verify. You must enter personal information to verify your account. Follow the instructions and answer any question about your account.
4. Enter your phone number or email address. Enter the phone number or email address associated with your account. You will receive a confirmation code or instructions via email.
5. Check your text messages or email. After entering the phone number or email address associated with your account, check your text messages or email for a new message from Twitter. The message must contain a verification code that you can use to unlock your account.

6. Enter the verification code. After you find the verification code in your text messages or email, enter the code on the Twitter app or website.

2. Click or press Start. This will display the options to unlock your account, if any. In some cases, Twitter may ask for information, such as your phone number or email address. In other cases, the only option may be to proceed to Twitter with limits.
3. Click or press Continue to Twitter. This gives you access to Twitter with restrictions. Certain features, such as Tweet, Retweet, or Like, may be suspended. Only your followers will see your past tweets.

4. Delete all banned tweets and retweets. If you can access your Twitter account with restrictions, you must delete all tweets and retweets that violate Twitter's rules.
5. Go to https://help.twitter.com/forms/general?subtopic=suspended in an internet browser. If you believe your account has been improperly or unfairly suspended, you can use the form on this webpage to submit a review request.
   • You may need to log in to your Twitter account before filling out the form. If you need to login, click "Login" in the top right corner and enter your Twitter username and password to log in.
6. Select a problem. Use the drop-down menu next to "Where are you experiencing this problem?" To select a reason that is closest to the problem you are experiencing.
7. Type a description of the problem. Use the space next to "Problem Description" to explain the problem. Use this to explain why you haven't broken Twitter's rules or explain the difficulties you are having in unlocking your account. Be as kind as possible.
