In this article, we will show you how to allow your iPhone to use a custom app that has not been downloaded from Apple's App Store.

Part 1 of 2: Installing an untrusted app

1. Download and install a custom app. Custom business apps are created by developers for exclusive use within an organization, such as an app that can be used internally for customer management or for downloading from the Internet.
2. Open the app. Opening the app will display the message "Untrusted business app developer".
   • Apps downloaded from the App Store are automatically trusted.
3. Tap "Cancel".

Part 2 of 2: Trust a custom app

1. Open the settings of your iPhone. That is an app with gray gears that you will find on your home screen.
2. Tap on General. This is next to a gray gear icon in one of the sections at the top of the menu.
3. Tap Profiles. This submenu could also be called "Profiles and Device Management".
   • This submenu will not be visible on your iPhone until you download and try to open an untrusted app.
4. Tap the app developer's name. This appears in the "Business App" section of the menu.
5. Tap Trust [developer name]. It's at the top of the window.
6. Tap Trust. Now you allow your iPhone to open the app you installed as well as any other apps from the same developer.
