This wikiHow shows you how to delete your Facebook account without having the option to reactivate your account later. You cannot delete your account with the Facebook app.

To step

  1. Go to the Facebook account deletion page. Using your web browser, go to https://www.facebook.com/help/delete_account by typing the address in the address bar and clicking ↵ Enter to push.
    • If you are not automatically logged in, enter the e-mail address or telephone number and password for your account. Then click on Sign Up. This is a blue button in the center of the page.
  2. click on Delete my account. This option can be found below the warning message in the middle of the page. Clicking on it will bring up a pop-up window.
  3. Enter your password again. You do this in the "Password" box at the top of the window.
  4. Enter the captcha code. This is the jumble of letters and numbers in the center of the window. You type the answer in the box below the code.
    • If you cannot read the code, click on the link Try a different text or the link an audio captcha below the code to generate a new code.
  5. click on OK. This will send the code. If it is correct, another pop-up window will appear.
    • If you entered your password or the captcha code incorrectly, you will be asked to try again.
  6. click on OK to delete your account. This option can be found at the bottom of the pop-up window. It may take up to 14 days for your account to be completely deleted, but your account will disappear from Facebook after that period.
