CC, or "color control" cream, is a lightweight makeup product that can be used in place of foundation or as a primer. CC cream helps to hide skin imperfections such as redness or hyperpigmentation while protecting your skin from sun damage while treating blemishes, fine lines and aging spots. It is easy to apply, all you need is your fingers or a make-up brush!

Method 1 of 2: Using CC cream

1. Wash your face and use toner and moisturizer. CC cream should be applied to clean skin. Wash your face with the facial cleanser you always use and gently dry your skin. Then, if you have oily skin, apply toner with a cotton ball. If you have dry skin, use moisturizer.
2. Apply small dots of CC cream on your face. Squeeze a little bit of CC cream on your fingers. If you want to use the product all over your face, put 1 dot on your forehead, 1 dot on your nose, 1 on your chin, and 1 on each cheek. Otherwise, apply 1 dot on every spot you want to cover, for example on the sides of your nose or on irregularities.
3. Mix the cream in your face with a make-up brush or clean fingers. CC cream can be applied any way you like best, be it with your fingers or a brush. Tap the cream to spread it on your face instead of rubbing it in to avoid creating irritation.Otherwise, swipe a makeup brush over your skin to blend the cream outward.
   • If you use your fingers, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly first to remove dirt, bacteria and oil.
   • If you use a makeup brush in the same sense, make sure to clean it weekly.
4. Add more cream to problem areas, if desired. If you want to hide imperfections more thoroughly, you can build up the CC cream. Simply apply another dot on problem areas such as dark circles under your eyes. Mix it with the rest of the cream so that you have a smooth and even skin.
   • It is more effective to add another coat instead of applying a lot of product the first time.

   Smooth your skin with a makeup brush. Whether you're just using CC cream or planning to apply foundation, make sure to use large, circular strokes to polish your skin and make sure all product is evenly applied. Make circular strokes with your brush, starting at your forehead and working your way up to your chin.

5. Apply foundation, if desired. CC cream smooths out your skin tone and covers imperfections. You can use your CC cream on its own, or you can use it as a primer underneath your foundation. If you want to use the product as a primer, the next step is to apply a small amount of foundation to your skin with a make-up brush or clean fingers. Mix it well and pay particular attention to your hair and jawline.

Method 2 of 2: Choosing the right cream

1. Make sure the color is as close to your skin tone as possible. If possible, take samples from a number of different brands of CC cream and test them at your jawline to find out which one is best for your skin / The cream should fade easily into your skin, instead of looking chalky or like looks like a mask.
2. Choose a CC cream that is specially made for your skin type. In this case, one product will not work for everyone. Read the labels of CC creams to find out which products are made for your specific skin type.
   • For example, if you have dry skin, opt for a CC cream made to moisturize skin, such as one that contains hyaluronic acid.
   • If your skin is oily, go for an oil-free CC cream with a matte finish.
   • If your skin is sensitive, go for a CC cream that is fragrance-free and non-comedogenic.
3. Choose a cream that targets your problem areas. Different CC creams tout different benefits, from sun protection to pore reduction to clearing blemishes and lightening aging spots. Think about what you would like to improve and choose a product to do that.
   • For example, choose a product with stem cell technology to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
   • Otherwise, opt for a cream with antioxidants to reduce breakouts.
4. Decide how much coverage you want. Some CC creams work as tinted moisturizers, while others have more pigment and act as foundation. If you want more coverage, go for a product with a thicker texture and opaque color. If you prefer less coverage, opt for a cream with a thinner texture and more sheer color.
