1 Place the silver in a bowl or container. The container must be large enough to hold the silver item that needs cleaning. Choose a container deep enough so that the liquid completely covers the silver. Place the product on the bottom of the container.

2 Pour enough cola into the container to cover the item. Make sure that the silver piece is completely immersed in the liquid. In this case, it does not matter which cola to use - regular or diet.

• If Coca-Cola is not at hand, any other soda cola will do the trick.

3 Leave the silver to soak for an hour. In the meantime, do something interesting or useful and leave the product alone. The acid in the cola will soften the dirt without harming the silver. For high-quality cleaning, keep the jewelry in the cola for up to 3 hours.

• Check the silver cleaning quality every 30 minutes.

Part 2 of 2: Clean the cola from the product

1. 1 Remove the silver from the cola. Use tweezers if you don't want the cola to get on your fingers. Lift the silver and shake the remaining cola back into the container. Place the silverware on a paper towel or directly on the table.
2. 2 Use a toothbrush to remove any liquid residues. Using firm circular motions, brush the silver piece with a soft-bristled toothbrush. This will help remove any softened deposits and dirt that have not dissolved in the cola.
   • Use a dedicated jewelry brush if you don't have a replacement toothbrush.
3. 3 Rinse the silver in clean water. Place the silverware under a stream of cool, clean water, or immerse it in a container of liquid. Then shake to get rid of any moisture droplets.
   • To rinse a small silver piece thoroughly, place it in a bottle of water and shake it vigorously.
4. 4 Blot the silver with a paper towel. Remove the product from the water and dry it immediately to prevent rust spots or darkening of the metal. The product must dry completely before storing it.
5. 5 Buff the silver with dish soap. Dissolve a few drops of dish soap in warm water. Dip a soft cloth in soapy water and wipe the silver with it. Rinse the product in cool water and then dry.

• Let's repeat: if Coca-Cola is not at hand, take any other carbonated cola.

Warnings

• It is best not to use the immersion in cola method for cleaning silver jewelry with precious stones, as under the influence of this drink they can fall out of the frame.
