Instagram is a social network and application through which you can share photos and videos, as well as view content from other users. To follow the publications of other users, you need to subscribe to their accounts - this can be done on a mobile device and on a computer. Posts from people you follow will appear on your feed. But in order to follow the accounts, you first need to create an Instagram account.

Steps

Part 1 of 3: How to create an Instagram account on a mobile device

1. 1 Install the Instagram app. It is available for iOS, Android and Windows.
2. 2 Tap an app icon to open it.
3. 3 Click "Register".
4. 4 Please enter your email address. Enter an address that you have access to, because an email will be sent to it if you forget your password.
   • You can also sign in with your Facebook credentials, which will sync your Facebook and Instagram accounts. If you are not already logged into Facebook, Instagram will prompt you to do so.

6. 6 Create a username and password and then click Next. You can now add your name, profile picture, and short bio.

Part 2 of 3: How to follow an Instagram account

1. 1 Click on the Instagram icon to launch this application.
2. 2 Log in to Instagram with your username and password. You may also need to enter your email address - this must be the address you used to sign up for Instagram.
3. 3 Click on the silhouette-shaped icon at the bottom right of the screen. You will be taken to your profile page.
4. 4 Open the settings menu in the upper right corner. On iOS and Windows, click the gear icon.
   • On Android, the settings menu is indicated by a three vertical dots icon.
5. 5 Click Find Friends. So on Instagram, you can find friends on Facebook, either from your contact list, or from the list compiled by Instagram.
   • On Android, this option is called Close Friends.
6. 6 When you find the account you want, click Subscribe next to its name.
7. 7 Click the magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen. Do this to manually search for accounts.
8. 8 Enter the name of the account you want. As you type, a list of matching accounts will be displayed.
9. 9 Tap the account you want. You will be taken to her page.
   • If the account is approved by Instagram, you'll see a white check mark on a blue background next to it.
10. 10 Click Subscribe next to your account name. The blue background of the Subscribe option will change to white, which means that you have successfully subscribed to your account.
    • If the user's account has restrictions, a Request Sent option will appear and will not disappear until the user allows you to view their page.
11. 11 Follow the publications through your account. When you subscribe to someone's account, that user's posts will appear on your feed.

Part 3 of 3: How to use Instagram on your computer

1. 1 Launch your web browser.
2. 2 Enter "Instagram" in your browser. Most likely, the first search result will be Instagram.com.
3. 3 Open the site Instagramby clicking on the appropriate link. You will be taken to the login page if you do not already have an account.
   • If you already have an account, enter your username and password. You may also need to enter your email address - this must be the address you used to register on Instagram.
4. 4 Enter your email address, full name, username and password on the appropriate lines. Now make sure the information is entered correctly.
   • You can also click Sign In With Facebook to use your Facebook credentials. If you are not already logged into Facebook, Instagram will prompt you to do so.
5. 5 Click "Register". The account will be created and you will be taken to the Instagram home page.
6. 6 Find the search bar at the top of the page. You can use it to search for accounts and content.
7. 7 Enter the name of the account you want to subscribe to. Start with something simple like the official Instagram page - just type in “Instagram”. As you type, a list of matching accounts appears.

Tips

• Instagram will offer to subscribe to accounts whose content is similar to the content of the accounts you have already subscribed to. Try to subscribe to different accounts.
• Official accounts usually contain professional content (for example, high-resolution images of cars can be found on the page of an automobile company).

Warnings

• If you enter an email address during registration that you do not have access to, you will not be able to recover your account when you forget your password.
