This wiki page shows you how to remove a contact from your Snapchat friends list, as well as how to block a contact. Removing your Snapchat friends will prevent them from seeing non-public photos and videos, while blocking someone will make them unable to view any of your content.

Steps

1. 

   Snapchat. Tap the Snapchat app icon, which looks like a white ghost silhouette on a yellow background. This will open the Snapchat camera view if signed into the app.
   • If not logged in, tap LOG IN (LOG IN) and enter your email address and password.

   Open the "Chat" page. Tap the speech bubble icon in the lower left corner of the screen or swipe the screen from left to right.

   Click on the "New Chat" icon. This icon has a speech bubble in the upper right corner of the screen. A list of Snapchat friends will be displayed.

   Find a friend to delete. Scroll down until you find the person you want to remove from your Snapchat Friends list.
   • You can also enter the person's name in the "To" text box at the top of the screen to find them.

   Press and hold this person's name. After about a second, a pop-up menu is displayed.

   Press Settings (Setting). This option is at the bottom of the pop-up menu. This will open a new menu.

   Press Remove Friend (Delete friends). This option is near the bottom of the menu.

   Press Remove (Delete) when prompted. This will confirm your decision and remove the selected person from the Friends list on Snapchat.
   • On Android, tap Yes (Yes) when prompted.

   Block a friend if necessary. While deleting a friend is enough to prevent someone from contacting you or viewing your Snapchat posts, they can still see your account. If you want to hide your entire Snapchat presence from your friends, do the following:
   • Find the name of the person you want to block.
   • Press and hold the person's name until a menu is displayed.
   • Press'Block (Block) in the menu.
   • Press Block (Block) (iPhone) or Yes (Yes) (Android) when prompted.

Advice

• When blocking someone, it will show up as if you deleted your account.
• You can view the list of blocked contacts by tapping the profile icon, tapping the gear in the upper-right corner of the screen, scrolling to the bottom of the page, and tapping. Blocked (Blocked).

Warning

• If you delete your friend, the other party can still see your Snapchat account; so they will know you've deleted it.
