Skype is a fun and useful online video chat application. The following article will show you how to download this application to your computer.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: Windows operating system

1. 

   Download the software to install. Use the links for Skype below to download the Skype installation software for Windows.

   Select "Get Skype for Windows desktop" (Download Skype for Windows operating systems).

   Click "Save" to save the Skype Setup Application.

   Once the download is finished, double-click the Skype Setup software.

   Follow the simple instructions in the Setup Wizard to complete the installation.

Method 2 of 4: Macintosh operating system

1. 

   Download the software to install. Use the links for Skype to download the Skype installation software for Mac OS X.
   • Select "Get Skype for Mac OS X" (Download Skype for Mac OS X).
   • Skype will automatically be downloaded to your computer. In case Skype doesn't automatically download, click on the framed link as shown in the photo:

   In the Download folder, open the .dmg file:
   • A window containing the Skype application and a folder similar to your Applications folder will open.
   • Drag the Skype application to the Applications folder and Skype will be installed.

• You can change your status by clicking your name or account name at the top, selecting Personalize to customize Skype.
• To create a new Skype account, open Skype and select "Don do have a Skype name", enter your personal information and click Sign in.

Read them carefully before you install Skype. You might also consider something similar to V See, ooVoo or Google+ Hangouts.
• Don't call people you don't know; Random Skype calls can come from people with bad intentions or the like. This is completely not what Skype is aiming for.
• If you want to call someone who doesn't use Skype, you'll have to pay a small fee.
