YouTube asks its users to find the answers to most of their technical and development questions on their website. You can, however, submit specific questions via special online forms. To use these forms, you often need a YouTube account.

Method 1 of 3: General information

1. Write down the identifying features of the videos you have questions about. For example, you can write down the URL, the creator's username, and the date the video was posted.
2. Send a letter to YouTube if you want to reach the customer service department. Write to YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066. Do not expect a prompt response.

3. Please contact Google if you have any questions about the website or other Google products. YouTube is owned by Google. Call +1 650-253-0000 to reach Google.
4. If you work for the media and want to contact YouTube, send a message to [email protected]. For general press releases and information, please visit https://www.youtube.com/yt/press/index.html

Method 2 of 3: Legal information

1. For copyright questions, please contact YouTube at [email protected]. In your message, clearly explain who you are and how you think copyright laws are being violated. When using the official channels to report copyright infringement, YouTube will contact you as soon as possible.
   • You can also engage your attorney to contact YouTube on your behalf.
   • Problems with the use of trademarks can be reported through another form. Go to https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1244601?hl=en to specify which trade name violation you wish to report.
2. Submit a privacy complaint at https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/142443. Here you can indicate exactly how your privacy is being violated via your YouTube account. If you are in immediate danger, it is best to contact the police first.
3. Report defamation with the special defamation form if your image or personal information is used in a video. This form can be found at https://support.google.com/youtube/contact/defamationother?rd=1.
4. Report identity fraud at https://support.google.com/youtube/contact/impersonation. To file a complaint, you will need to include a copy of your ID or passport.
5. For other legal questions or complaints, please use the general legal reporting form. This form can be found at https://support.google.com/youtube/contact/otherlegal.

Method 3 of 3: Security information

1. Send an email to [email protected] if you find a hack, bug or other security issue on YouTube. In some cases, you will receive a financial reward for your report.
2. Report that a video has inappropriate content by clicking "Report" below the video. You can find this button by clicking "More" under the name of the creator of the video. Then click the report button with the flag next to it. The YouTube team will now review the video to assess whether the content is inappropriate.
3. Report an entire YouTube channel to be inappropriate by clicking the flag at the top of the channel. In the menu that now appears, click "Report User".

Tips

• Most complaints can be submitted by email or via one of the official complaint forms on the YouTube website. Complaints reported in this way will be dealt with more quickly than complaints submitted via social media channels, for example.
