1. 1 What effect do I want from this lamp?

   • Consider the size of the lamp itself.Using the general rule of thumb, a large lamp can be hung higher, while a small lamp can be hung lower.
   • Consider the size of the room. How high is the ceiling in the room? Rooms with unusually high ceilings require large and low-hanging chandeliers.
   • If you want to hang your lamp over a regular or kitchen table, be sure to factor in their size. If you have a large table, you can try hanging the lamp a little higher.    • Calculate given the height of the ceiling. If the ceiling is 2.4 meters high, then the ceiling lamp should hang 30-50 cm lower. For every additional 30 centimeters of ceiling, add 7.5 centimeters to the lamp.
