This article shows you how to delete messages in the Messages app on iPhone.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Delete individual messages

  1. Open iPhone Messages. Do this by clicking the white dialogue box on the green background icon. The icon is on the Home screen.

  2. Select a message in the Messages menu. If you're chatting, you can click <in the upper left corner of the screen to return to the Messages menu.
  3. Click and hold the message you want to delete.

  4. Choose More (See more). Options are on the menu that appears at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Select each message you want to delete. The message you choose at first will be selected by default.

  7. Click Delete Message (Delete message). Selected messages will be deleted immediately.

Method 2 of 3: Delete conversation

Warning

  • You can't get deleted messages back without using restore point.
