SkyBlock is a popular survival game in Minecraft known to many people since its launch. This game type requires you to perform the difficult task of trying to survive in a block in the sky in conditions where resources are extremely scarce. Thanks to SkyBlock, many players have gained experience and skills in the art of survival in Minecraft. You can also discover and experience the same thing for yourself while reading this article.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Install and load SkyBlock maps (in Singleplayer mode)

Search for SkyBlock maps. Go to https://www.google.com and type skyblock map in the search bar to find web pages with the latest version of SkyBlock maps. Some of the websites with SkyBlock maps are as follows:

Download SkyBlock map. When you find the map SkyBlock you want to download, click the Download button to download the zip file containing the maps.
Show hidden files and folders (Windows only). In Windows, you will probably need to show hidden files and folders to navigate to the Minecraft save folder.
Extract the map file to the Minecraft save folder. Use an decompression application like Winzip, WinRAR or 7-Zip to unzip a folder in a zip file. Extract the entire folder to the Minecraft save folder. Open Minecraft. Click on Minecraft Launcher (in Java Edition) or Minecraft icon (in Windows 10 Edition) to open Minecraft. If you don't see it on the Desktop, click the icon in the Windows Start menu, or the Applications folder on your Mac.
Click Play. This green button is located at the bottom of Minecraft Launcher or the large gray button in the screen that appears when playing Minecraft Windows 10 Edition.
Click Single Player (Java Edition only). In the Java Edition version of Minecraft, click Singleplayer to display the map list in single player mode.
Click on the SkyBlock map. After the map is copied to the save folder, it will appear in Minecraft's saves list. Click on the SkyBlock map to download.
- Some maps created in Java Edition may not be playable in Windows 10 (Bedrock) Edition and vice versa.
Click Play Selected World (Java Edition only). If you are playing Minecraft Java Edition, click Play Selected World. advertisement

Method 2 of 3: connect to SkyBlock server (in Multiplayer mode)

Search for Minecraft's SkyBlock server. Go to https://www.google.com and search by keyword Minecraft Skyblock server. You will see many websites that contain a list of SkyBlock servers. If you are playing Windows 10 (Bedrock) Edition, type either Windows 10 or Bedrock in the search field. You will see many websites that contain Minecraft server listings. There are a number of servers such as:

- https://topminecraftservers.org/type/Skyblock (Java Edition version)
- https://minecraftservers.org/type/skyblock (Java Edition version)
- https://minecraftpocket-servers.com/tag/skyblock/ (Bedrock Edition version)
Click the button Copy under the server you want to add. Most websites that list servers have a "Copy" button below each server in the list. When you click this button, the server address will be copied.
- For Minecraft version of Windows 10, you need to copy the address of the server, click on the word Server and note down the port number.
Open Minecraft. Click on Minecraft Launcher (in the Java Edition version of Minecraft) or the Minecraft icon (in the Windows 10 Edition version of Minecraft). If you don't see it on the Desktop, click it in the Windows Start menu, or the Applications folder on your Mac.
Click Play. This green button is located at the bottom of Minecraft Launcher or the large gray button in the screen that appears when playing Minecraft Windows 10 Edition.
Click Multiplayer or Servers. If you are playing Minecraft Java Edition, click Multiplayer. If you are playing Windows 10 Edition, click Servers.
Click Add Server. In Minecraft Java Edition, this button is located in the lower right corner of the Multiplayer menu. In Minecraft Windows 10 Edition, this button is at the top of the list of servers.
Add server information. Type the name of the server in the "Server name" field. Paste the address you copied into the "Server address" field. In Minecraft Windows 10 Edition, you also need to enter the port number in the "Port" field.
Click Save or Done. This is the step to save the server to your server list. If you are playing Windows 10 Edition, click Save. If you are playing Java Edition, click Done.
Click on the Minecraft server you just added. This is the step to load server play. Most likely you will see the interface contains a variety of gameplay styles, tutorials and other players.
Locate the SkyBlock play style. The servers will have different interfaces. Some servers have other types of play other than SkyBlock. Search for SkyBlock. It could be the villagers write "SkyBlock", the gate "SkyBlock" or the wall with instructions on how to start playing.
Follow the instructions. Follow any on-screen instructions to start playing SkyBlock. The tutorial content will vary depending on the server. Usually, you can type the command line to start a new SkyBlock game on the island or join an ongoing game. Press T to open the command line interface. Method 3 of 3: Play SkyBlock

Use "Sneak" mode to avoid falling to the edge. Hold down Shift while moving around to enter "Sneak" mode.
Collect sapling from the first tree. No buds = no more trees, so if you don't collect at least one bud from the first tree, you'll have to start over. Scramble the leaves of the first tree to collect shoots.
Collect the wood from the first tree. After you have collected some shoots from the leaves, break the wood with your hand.
Plant shoots on the block farthest from the resurrection site. This keeps the tree away from the lava and avoids losing trees (even apples and buds) due to future fires.
- You can increase your chances of picking up shoots by using some dirt on the top layer to widen the base around the bottom of the tree.
Collect wood and shoots every time the tree grows. As the buds grow, collect the buds from the leaves, then take the wood. The next step is to replant the shoots you collected.
Make a workbench. When you have enough wood, make a crafting table.
- Remember to save two blocks of wood (do not turn them into planks) so that in the future will make the first charcoal.
Craft pickaxe from wood. Use some wood to craft wooden boards and sticks by hand. Then use the crafting table to create a wooden pickaxe.
Create a 2X2 water tank. You can craft your tank from two ice cubes in the spare chest. You should have enough soil to create a 2x2 tank, but you can use the plank at the edge of the tank farthest from the lava if needed. This is the step in creating an endless supply of water because every bucket that scoops water from this tank is automatically filled.
Create a pebble generator. One of the simplest ways is to dig the hole 4 blocks long and the second 2 blocks deep. Now pour a bucket of water into the hole two blocks deep and the lava on the other side.
- To create the basic cobblestone generator, follow the following formula (D = Soil, N = Water, K = Space, D = Lava):

- Another way to create a more complex generator can be done as follows: (D = Soil mass, K = Space mass, C = Cobblestone, N = Water and D = Lava)

"Tapping" cobblestones from your creator. You can create pebbles by mixing flowing water into the lava.
- You can combine the water source and the pebble generator if you want.
Fabrication of a furnace (furnace / kiln). Use the crafting table to make a kiln out of eight pebbles and burn a block of wood using the second spare wood as fuel to get the first charcoal. Then make a torch.
Crafting fishing rods. Use sticks and some strings in the spare chest to craft a fishing rod. With a fishing rod and oven, you can rest assured that you will always be full while waiting for your garden to harvest.
Continue to create and harvest pebbles. Once you have a certain amount of pebbles, expand to the bottom area of the island and collect the soil, but don't touch the pebble generator.
- If you are making cobblestone slab, you can widen the surface area twice as much as when using the same amount of raw materials. This way of crafting the pebble stone also has the benefit of preventing monsters from reviving in dimly lit areas.
- You only have a finite amount of land. One way to avoid losing a block is to create a platform or "tray" underneath your sky block to catch anything falling.
- You can do this by digging a hole in the pebbles and pouring a bucket of water in, creating a waterfall where you can swim down.
- Dive down and place the 4 cobblestones into a downward facing column / tower. Swim upwards for steam, then dive into the water to place a block in each corner of the column at the bottom of the column, just below the original hole ... then swim back up.
- Jump out of the water and use a bucket to get the water.
- Place the ladder and climb down the bottom of the block at the corner you set and build / expand the lower floor or "tray" 4 blocks below the original sky block.
- Expand the "tray" below the main floor. This place can be left in the dark as a monster generator or lit up to stop the monster at the player's will.
Consider creating a monster generator (mob spawner). You can do this by building the background out of the light. If you do, you can pick up many things monsters dropped, such as fibers, bones (gardening powder), specialized tools, etc.
- Since there is no iron, you cannot use a hopper. Instead, just run along the edge and pick up the falling things yourself.
Consider creating a "grass". The lawn should be 24 blocks away from your main construction area to spawn animals for food and other resources.
Play your own way. What you will do next is up to you. You can expand your house, create a more efficient monster generator, create a huge monster farm ... there's loads of things you can do. SkyBlock game will end when you have passed all the challenges, or cannot develop further without cheating. advertisement

Advice

If you turn lava into obsidian, right click on it. The black jelly will turn back into lava.
There is actually a way to get more iron. One of the ways is to create an iron farm.

You can do this by creating an artificial village and allowing the villagers to breed. After there are enough villagers in your "village", the Iron Golem will begin to appear to protect the villagers. Then you can kill iron man for more iron.

If you're feeling unfamiliar with the cobblestone generator, look for some designs so you don't accidentally turn lava into heather.
In version 1.0 and later, animals will appear more than 24 blocks from your location, so don't expect them to be used as food or resources. Instead, build a monster build in the dark room for wool and use the farm to make bread.
Cover the water to prevent it from freezing or place a torch on its side. Any "roof" part above the water can help with this. You can also use the "roof" so your garden won't get caught in snow in cold environments.
Leave some grass until you can create the farm needed for collecting seeds and breeding animals. You can always plant grass along the ground and then clean it up later. Note that you need to build the ground at least 24 blocks away from the main foundation to spawn animals. Light up this background to fight off aggressive monsters. Make a minimum of 5x5 grass or patch of land and wait. Kill any useless animals (like horses and donkeys because they need a saddle, which is not available in the SkyBlock) so that the useful / edible animal is born in their place. Warning

Monsters will appear 24 blocks from the player, so light up the background as you expand it so that the monster won't disturb you during the day.
You cannot sleep in SkyBlock if you are playing on the server, because there are many other people playing SkyBlock on that server.
A bucket is preserved because you cannot have more buckets.
The reasons why a player cannot continue is:
- No more buds to plant trees
- No way to get more seeds (no more grass)
- Losing too much land (no farm or trees)
- Lost sand (no cactus farm or glass)
