Bisquick biscuits are soft and tasty. It's also very easy to prepare and always comes out well, making it ideal for a quick bite to eat when hunger attacks.

Ingredients

Portions: Approx. 9 cookies

  • 2 ¼ cups Original Bisquick Blend
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Making the dough

  1. 1 Preheat the oven to 230ºC.
  2. 2 Add baking soda to Bisquick.
  3. 3 Add chopped butter, then add milk.
  4. 4 Stir the ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  5. 5 Place on a surface sprinkled with Bisquick or flour.
  6. 6 Knead 10 times.
    • For a crispy crust, don't knead or curl, just spoon the dough out onto the baking sheet.
  7. 7 Roll out the dough 1 cm thick.

Method 2 of 2: Baking the cookies

  1. 1 Cut the dough into 7.5 cm pieces.
    • If you don't have cookie cutters, or use a knife to cut out squares or circles with an upside-down glass. A little flour or Bisquick on a knife or glass will prevent sticking.
  2. 2 Place on a non-oiled baking sheet.
      • Leave some space, 2.5-5 cm, around the cookies on the baking sheet. This will heat them more evenly and bake better.
  3. 3 Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
    • Use a spatula to loosen freshly baked cookies from the baking sheet so they don't stick.
  4. 4 Ready. Serve warm.

Tips

  • For a richer flavor, add 1/3 cup butter and ¼ teaspoon baking soda to Bisquick before adding milk.
  • For softer cookies, place the cookies close together and leave space in between for crispier ones.
  • If you have any cookies left over, let them cool, then store at room temperature in a vacuum bag or container.
  • This base mix can be made more flavorful by adding ingredients such as grated cheese, cocoa powder, or spices.
  • A plastic cup with flat sides can also replace a rolling pin.
  • The cookie has the same texture as round buns in the UK and Australia.
