You may remember how in the early 90s, Twin Peaks saw a stunt that all viewers were delighted with. It takes a little practice to master this skill perfectly, but knowing how to tie a cherry stalk in your mouth can be great party fun!

Steps

1. 1 Find the right stem. The longer and softer it is, the better (Maraschino cherries are very good, as they are already soft).
   • Before putting the stem in your mouth, demonstrate to the audience that it hasn't been tied yet.
   • Rotate the stem in your mouth to increase its flexibility by softening it with your saliva.
2. 2 Fold the stem in half around the tip of your tongue. The easiest way to do this is along the stem so that the folded stem lies longitudinally to the tongue, one end on top, the other on the bottom of the tongue.
3. 3 Squeeze the folded end between your teeth. Bite gently until the two ends cross, forming a loop with X-shaped crossed ends.
4. 4 Holding one end with your teeth, use the tip of your tongue to push the other end through the loop. Use your teeth to flip the loop towards the end you want to push. It may take a few minutes, but anything is possible, especially after some practice!
5. 5 Pull out and display the knotted stem!

Method 1 of 2: Alternative Vision

1. 1 Hold one end with your teeth and pull the other along the first. The stem is folded like a hot dog.
2. 2 Roll one end of the stem, pushing your tongue in the middle.
3. 3 Bite the stem and tighten it with your teeth. This will form a tight knot.

Method 2 of 2: The Magic Method

Why try to do something difficult when you can make it look difficult ?!

1. 1 Take a cherry stem and tie it in a knot. Tie two knots to impress your friends even more.
2. 2 Place the stem between the cheek and the lower cervical part of the gum.
3. 3 Find the person and tell them you can tie a knot on the stem of the cherry.
4. 4 Place the second stem in your mouth.
5. 5 Keeping your mouth closed, place the new stem along the other gum line opposite where you have the knotted stem.
6. 6 Take out the knotted stem and show it to the person.

Tips

• The softer the stem, the better.
• Use the longest stem you can find, especially if you are trying to push the seed through the stem.
• A cherry with a stem can be put in your mouth and eaten, leaving the stem and bone for the trick.
• For extra furor, push the bone through the knotted stem (stretch the knotted stem against the front teeth and push the bone halfway with the tip of your tongue). People will no doubt believe that you have tied the stem around the seed. These poor, poor fools!

Warnings

• Be careful not to swallow or choke on the stem.
• Don't let kids under 7 do this trick, they risk choking.
• Can attract unnecessary attention from people.
