A treasure map can be useful for many things - school games, games, and just plain fun. Here's how to make your treasure map look like a real one.

Method 1 of 1: Making Your Own Treasure Map

1. 1 Think about the map you want to make. It can be a path with landmarks, or it can be a verse that includes directions and distances. Make sure the beginning is easy to find and that the treasure is hidden where it won't be disturbed until the treasure hunters find it.
2. 2 Use a sheet of white paper and draw your map. Include compass directions and any verse or written clues that treasure hunters need to find the treasure. Multi-colored ink will work fine; some pencil-type crayons will work as well.
3. 3 Tear off the edges of the page to make it look like a treasure map.
4. 4 When your card is ready, wipe with a damp tea bag on both sides of the page. The page will turn light brown. The paper should be absorbed by the time you finish.
5. 5 Squeeze into a ball and leave to dry overnight.
6. 6 Gently open the card and rub both sides with cooking oil. Remove excess with paper towels.
7. 7 Let the paper dry again.
8. 8 By this time, your treasure map should look 100 years old!
9. 9 Use your map for a treasure hunt or as a playlist The scavenger goes hunting at the children's birthday.
