This wikiHow teaches you how to open DMG files on a Mac. The DMG file is mainly used to install apps on a Mac, so you won't be able to open it properly on a Windows computer.

Steps

1.

   Review the contents of the DMG file. Usually you will use the DMG file to install the application. However, some DMG files contain images or text files.
