Harmful insects are found in every corner of the world. Flies, mosquitoes and ants are found countless numbers by almost every American. However, some insects are quite annoying like the eye mosquito. Luckily, they are fairly easy to remove and there are lots of things you can do to prevent them from coming back. Getting rid of mosquitoes is as simple as setting up a trap, or pouring some ammonia down a drain.

Methods at home

If you want to get rid of the mosquitoes right away, you probably already have everything you need in your home:

  • If you have ammonia or vinegar and baking sodaYou can kill mosquito eye in the drain pipe.
  • If you have apple cider vinegar and glass jarsYou can set eye mosquito traps.
  • If you have wine and soapy waterYou can make wine traps.
  • If you have lemon-scented dish soapYou can do spray on plants.

Steps

Method 1 of 5: Kill mosquitoes in sinks and drain pipes

  1. Use ammonia to kill mosquitoes in the drain. To kill eye mosquitoes (along with their eggs and larvae) that live in the drain, simply pour a small amount of ammonia into the sink. This will effectively remove any traces of the mosquito. Just make sure to dilute ammonia for a few hours before using your sink again, as ammonia is also toxic to humans.
    • To replace the odor of ammonia, you can add a few grams of baking soda to the drain, then add 200 ml of vinegar. The mixture will bubble slightly, then let it sit for a few hours before rinsing.

  2. Close the drain hose cap.
  3. Do not pour vegetable or olive oil into the kitchen sink. While it can kill some mosquitoes around sinks or trash, it's not worth clogging the drain. advertisement

Method 2 of 5: Eye trap

  1. Make eye mosquito trap at home. An easy way for you to get rid of a mosquito infestation yourself is to create a cheap and simple mosquito trap yourself. Find a used can or jar (a particularly effective glass jar) and pour in apple cider vinegar. Eye mosquitoes really love the smell of apple cider vinegar. After pouring into cans or jars, seal mouths and poke small holes with nails or screws. Place the jar where mosquitoes usually live, mostly in the kitchen or dining room. If necessary you can make many such jars in many places.
    • Mosquitoes will fly into the jar, but will not be able to escape. Once the jar is full of mosquitoes and you can't see any mosquitoes around, throw the jar away and say goodbye to your mosquito problem.
    • If you don't have apple cider vinegar on hand, any type of vinegar will work. Regular white vinegar works too, although you may need to add a few drops of dishwashing liquid (the better the lemon scent) to the jar to make it more attractive to mosquitoes. Another method is to chopped up some bananas or put some banana peels in a jar.
    • If you don't have a jar with a lid on hand, you can make another kind of trap by cutting the top 1/3 of the soft drink bottle upside down and turning it upside down to create a funnel shape. Wrap the tape in place.
  2. Make traps from alcohol and soap.
    • Get a small container (such as a wine glass).
    • Pour some wine to ¾ cup. This is great when using up the leftover wine at the bottom of the bottle.
    • Add a drop of dishwashing liquid or more and stir gently.
    • Leave alone. Soon, thousands of mosquitoes will be attracted to the wine glass. They try to land on top of the liquid, but soapy water reduces the tension of the alcohol surface. As a result, the mosquito will fall straight down and drown.

Method 3 of 5: Prevent mosquito eye from returning

  1. Eliminate the mosquito's food source. Like other insects, mosquitoes get their food mainly from food chips you leave outside. The best solution to prevent mosquitoes is to prevent them from "foraging" in the first place. By cleaning the kitchen and dining room regularly and quickly disposing of food scraps and scraps, you can prevent mosquitoes from entering your home before they become a problem.
    • When you store food, make sure it is stored in a tightly closed container in a closed refrigerator or refrigerator. Store fruit in the refrigerator to prevent them from overripe and attract mosquitoes.
    • Never leave dirty dishes in the sink as leftover food debris can attract mosquitoes. Wash dishes immediately after use and cover the shelves with a clean, dry cloth.
  2. Close the garbage can. You can stop mosquitoes from getting in by keeping trash cans covered around your home or home. If the trash bin outside your home is not covered, mosquitoes can hang out there and will fly straight into your home. By keeping the lid on your trash can, you will not give mosquitoes a chance to feed on leftovers.
    • Avoid leaving garbage bags in your home overnight. Throw out all trash every night and make sure the outside bin is sealed.
    • Clean household trash regularly and scrub lids and surfaces with bleach water. Bleach will kill mosquitoes immediately upon contact.
  3. Do not over water the plants. Specific types of mosquitoes like to fly around plants that are over watered and lay eggs in the soil. You can prevent this from happening by keeping an eye on the soil and making sure it is wet instead of wet. At the same time, make sure the plants are properly drained.
  4. Examine the doors and windows. If you start to see mosquitoes outside of your home, check all doors and windows to make sure they are completely closed and that there are no gaps where mosquitoes can enter. If you need to open windows and doors, use a fly screen with a closed net, making sure there are no holes in it.
  5. Check for damp places. Eye mosquitoes like humid places to breed, so look for damp corners in the kitchen and elsewhere in the home. Regularly scrub the damp area with bleach water or other bleach to prevent mosquito entry. Never leave towels or damp clothing around, and keep carpets and mats in a sunny place to prevent moisture from forming. advertisement

Method 4 of 5: Remove eye mosquitoes from plants

  1. Handling plants infested by mosquitoes. Some mosquitoes are attracted to the moist soil in the indoor plant's potted plant and even lay their eggs in it. There are many things you can do to get rid of mosquitoes and save your plants. First, you should stop watering the plant until the 2 cm of the topsoil is completely dry. This will dry and die the eggs and larvae, but unfortunately the plant may look a bit somber, but it will soon be cheerful when watered again.
  2. Make a home-made mosquito spray by mixing a few tubes of lemon-scented dish soap with water into the spray bottle. Spray arbitrarily over the entire plant - leaves, stems and soil.
    • Leave the solution on the plant for an hour or two, this will kill the mosquitoes. Then you need to spray water on the plant to wash off the soap, to avoid damaging the plant.
  3. If you've gone through all of these steps and still see mosquitoes around the plant, you need to re-pot the plant with clean soil. advertisement

Method 5 of 5: Spray eye mosquito

  1. Use a specialized insect spray. There are a variety of aerosols available at supermarkets and hardware stores that specialize in killing all types of winged insects. Just spray the insecticide on mosquitoes, or where they live. This will kill any and all mosquitoes and other insects.
    • Be sure to check the label to see if the spray can harm your pets. Depending on the strength of the spray, you, family, and pets may need to stay away from the sprayed area for several hours until the chemical is gone.

Advice

  • There are many species of mosquitoes that are difficult to identify and rarely become problematic. Once you determine where the mosquitoes go, you should be able to use one of the methods listed above to treat them, regardless of the type of mosquito.
  • I use 100ml of lemon-flavored beer and I add a drop or two of regular scent-free dish soap. I put four such traps around the house. I put ammonia in the drain and let it sit for 2 hours before washing it. All mosquitoes disappeared the next morning.
  • Wrap the plants indoors in a trash bag and leave for several days. The mosquito will die, and the tree will be fine.
  • Add 15 ml of lemon juice and some Windex cleaner. Let the mosquitoes fly in and they will die.
  • If your home has been so severely infested by mosquitoes that they swirl like a tornado over the sink drain, suck the mosquitoes with a hose-attached vacuum cleaner. This will get rid of the mosquitoes faster than using a liquid trap, which is non-toxic, and does not smell like vinegar. Persevere every day, you will kill mosquitoes faster as they breed, and they will disappear in just a week.
