- If the thread left on the needle is not long enough, this ring will be difficult. If this is the case, correct it by appending the thread to the thread on the needle, then inserting the needle into the newly appended thread.
- At this point, if you pull the thread up, you will see 3 small threads at the bottom of the knot.
Tie one more loop to create a double knot. If you sew thick fabrics or want to finish the seam more firmly, you can thread the needle through the stitched stitch to form another circle, then pierce the needle through and tighten it.
- Remember, you won't see these knots on the right side.
- If you do not have experience in sewing and finishing machine seams, you should practice sewing with the scrap cloth until you are familiar with how to use the sewing machine.
Press the reverse sewing button. Depending on the sewing machine type, the reverse sewing button may be located near the stitch type selector button, which looks like a small circular button with a u-shaped return arrow, indicating that the machine will sew in the opposite direction.
- For some types of machines, you will need to press and hold the reverse sewing button while sewing. Check if you need to do so in reverse sewing or just press the button to start and stop.
- Near the edge of the fabric, there will now be 3 stitches that will overlap to end the stitch.
Lift the needle and cut the thread. You will use the hand crank to lift the needle and lift the presser foot, then slide the finished cloth out and cut the thread close to the end stitch.
- Cut the thread close to the fabric, not the needle, so that sewing can be continued. If the needle is cut too close, the thread on the needle may slip.
- Some sewing machines have side thread trimming notches. Just press the thread into this notch to cut it.
Advice
- If you often accidentally put the needle in your hand, you should use the hand dike to protect your fingers.
- If you can pull the piece of cloth to the sides without the seam coming out, it is firmly fixed.
