There are several ways to make corn cake, but they all have more ingredients. Here's a simple recipe with a great taste.
Ingredients
- 135 grams of yellow cornmeal
- 135 grams of flour
- 240 ml of milk
- 80 ml of oil
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
To step
- Preheat the oven to 200 ° C, grease a baking tin with butter (bottom and sides)
- Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.
- In another bowl, stir together the milk, eggs, oil and butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until the batter is moist and lumpy.
- Pour the batter into the baking pan and bake it until a skewer comes out clean (after 25 minutes on average).
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes before removing it from the baking pan and let it cool completely on a rack.
Tips
- Adding 150 grams of sugar makes it a sweet cake, but adding more sugar makes it too sweet and flaky for one batch.
- Corn cake is delicious with butter and honey.
