Penguins are sympathetic and at the same time elegant water birds found only in the southern hemisphere. Penguins cannot fly, and they use their strong wings to swim in the sea. If you want to draw a penguin, the famous emperor penguin is a good one to start with. Or, depending on what you want to use the drawing for, choose a less lifelike but very funny cartoon or cartoon character-like penguin. Whatever penguin you want to draw, by breaking the process down into steps, it is very easy to learn.

Method 1 of 2: Draw a cartoon penguin

Draw two circles for the eyes and draw two smaller circles in each. Make the pupils black by making the smaller circles black, leaving a small dot of white in both pupils to make the eyes glow. Leaving a tiny speck of white in both eyes makes them appear more real.
- In principle, it does not matter where in the pupil you leave the dot open, but try to make sure that it is in the same place in both eyes.
Make your drawing more realistic with shadow effects. Create a shadow effect on the penguin by first coloring the head and beak so that the top of the beak is darker than the bottom. Then color in the back of the penguin, including the tail and legs. You can also apply a lighter shade on the front and on the legs, but leave most of that area white.

Also try drawing an entire penguin colony. A colony is the collective name for a group of penguins on the mainland, while a group of penguins on or in the water is also called a raft.
