This is a fairly easy job. You just need a sewing machine, some pins and a mirror (or girlfriend).
To step
- Put the dress inside out.
- Grab the amount of fabric you want to take in on both sides of the waist.
- Place the first pin where most of the fabric is to be ingested.
- Pin this way along the entire seam until you get the right fit.
- Take off the dress and pull a thread along the line with pins.
- Put the dress back on - this time right side out to see if the fit is right, and try on things that aren't right yet.
- Sew over the basting stitch with the sewing machine.
- Take out the basting thread.
- Try on the dress again.
- Trim the excess fabric, leaving about 2 inches.
- Press the seam open so that it is nice and flat.
- Ready!
Warnings
- When basting, make sure that the seam ends in nothingness at the end of the portion you are taking in.
- Be careful not to prick yourself with the pins when putting on or taking off the dress. If you did prick yourself, disinfect the wound and put a gauze or bandage on it so that no blood gets on the dress.
